.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Upper ridging will continue
for the forecast area with a dry airmass in place. Minimum
humidities drop down into the teens this afternoon for much
of the CWA for a few hours. However, wind speeds are not
expected to very strong. The fire weather conditions will
remain elevated over the southeastern CWA; mainly northern
Lincoln, eastern Elbert, eastern Adams, eastern Arapahoe
and southern Washington Counties where a few winds gusts
of 20-25 mph are possible for a few hours this afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...
Winds will increase a little for Monday with the passage of a weak
upper level disturbance. Speeds, however, should stay just below
critical thresholds with most gusts in the 15-20 mph range, and
only spotty 25 mph gusts in the morning in/near the Front Range
Foothills and Wyoming border. Humidity levels will be very dry
again, with 10-15% minimums so fire weather conditions will be
elevated in almost all areas.
For Tuesday through at least Friday, much above normal
temperatures and very low humidity readings will prevail. Winds
will fortunately be light and follow normal diurnal wind patterns.
