.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...A moist weather system will move
across Colorado through tonight. Today will be cooler with higher
humidities. Showers and a few thunderstorms are likely over the
mountains, mainly in the afternoon. For the eastern plains,
there`s just a slight chance of light showers in the late
afternoon and overnight. Smoke dispersal will be limited by the
cloud cover and light winds, remaining poor in most mountain
areas, and becoming fair to good on the plains in the afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...Saturday`s
weather will be similar to today`s. Winds will increase behind
this weather system Saturday night and Sunday. Cooling will lead
to a brief period of snow over the higher mountains early Sunday,
then drier air will move in. Near critical conditions are possible
in areas just east of the mountains Sunday afternoon. For early
next week, temperatures will be near seasonal normals with lighter
winds and only isolated light showers.
