.DISCUSSION...Mostly clear skies and mild temperatures will
continue today and Saturday, driven by a persistent upper ridge
over the northern Intermountain region. Valley temperatures are
expected to reach the upper 50s again this afternoon, similar to
yesterday.

A Pacific upper trough near 150 W remains on track to move
onshore in northern California late Saturday night, progressing
east along 40 N across Nevada on Sunday into Monday. This system
will bring light rain and snow to southeastern Oregon and
southwest Idaho, primarily south of the Snake River Valley. Due
to the system`s southerly track, precipitation amounts will be
minimal, with the highest amountsup to 0.25 inches of liquid,
translating to around one inch of new snowexpected above 5500
feet MSL along the Nevada border.

5-10kts.

KBOI...VFR. Clear. Light winds.

Weekend Outlook...VFR. Mostly clear Saturday. Light winds.
Increasing clouds with 20 to 40 percent chance of showers Sunday
with snow levels around 5500 feet MSL. Lov VFR/MVFR in rain.
MVFR/IFR and mountain obscurations in snow.

.PREV DISCUSSION...
SHORT TERM...Today through Sunday night...An upper ridge will
persist over the northern intermountain region through Saturday
night with mostly clear skies and mild afternoon temperatures.
Pacific upper trough along 150 W will come onshore northern
California late Saturday night, then move east along 40 N across
NV Sunday and Monday. This track will bring light rain and snow
to southeastern OR Sunday, and to ID mainly south of the Snake
River Valley Sunday night. Precipitation amounts will be up to
0.25 inches liquid with up to one inch new snow above 5500 feet
MSL. No significant winds through Sunday night.

LONG TERM...Monday through Friday...The upper level trough will
continue to bring showers to the area with snow levels lowering
to around 4000 feet. Most models favor upper level ridging
building back over the area Tuesday through Thursday with dry
weather.
