.Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours from Hurricane Helene is
producing rises on the Coosa River. Some minor over flow can be
expected and some secondary roads may become flooded.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
  county, Cherokee.

* WHEN...Until 1015 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1008 AM CDT, reporting gauges upstream in Georgia indicate
    rising levels along the Coosa River above Weiss Lake. This
    will cause lowland flooding along the Coosa River above Weiss
    Lake.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional significant
    rainfall is expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Centre and Eastern Weiss Lake past the state line.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
