...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
  continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
  counties, Chilton and Shelby.

* WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Small stream flooding may lead to water over roadways
  and areal flooding near Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road
  in Shelby County and along Walnut Creek above Clanton in Chilton
  County.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 959 AM CDT, Gauge reports from Walnut Creek above Clanton
    and Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road indicated small
    stream flooding is ongoing due to additional heavy rainfall
    of 2 to 3 inches overnight.
  - Some locations near these small stream basins that may
    experience flooding include...
    Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Calera, Chelsea, Clanton,
    Columbiana, Jemison, Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village,
    Thorsby, Harpersville, Westover, Lay Lake, Gap Of The
    Mountain, Mitchell Lake, Oak Mountain State Park, Higgins
    Ferry Park, Highland Lakes and Mount Laurel.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
