.DISCUSSION...

Western and central North Dakota lies behind a cold front this
afternoon. Strong west to northwesterly winds, with speeds from 30
to 35 MPH and gusts up to 50 MPH, are anticipated across much of
the area. While these winds are expected to diminish across the
south through the late afternoon, strong winds with gusts up to 55
MPH are expected to linger to the north of Highway 200 through the
evening. With the cold front, high temperatures in the 50s and 60s
were hit earlier this morning and afternoon. Minimum relative
humidities drop only as low as 50 percent across portions of the
south. Chances for rain increase across the west and north this
afternoon through the evening. Some light snow could become mixed
into the northwest this afternoon.

The upcoming week will remain cooler but not as windy. Below
freezing overnight temperatures are expected across much of
western North Dakota tonight, and northern North Dakota Monday
night. Dry weather is anticipated on Monday and for most areas on
Tuesday before medium to high chances for rain return mid week.
