.DISCUSSION...

A cold front crossing the state from northwest to southeast this
morning and afternoon will turn south-southwest winds around 10 to
15 mph to the northwest around 15 to 25 mph. Afternoon gusts along
and behind the front could reach 25 to 35 mph, strongest in the
northwest. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also likely to
develop later this morning and afternoon. Any heavier shower or
storm could also produce strong and erratic wind gusts. Highs this
afternoon will mainly be in the mid and upper 70s north to lower and
mid 80s south. Minimum humidity is expected to range from around 35
percent along the South Dakota border to 65 percent along the
Canadian border.

Dry weather is expected Tuesday into Wednesday. Northwest winds will
become lighter on Tuesday and then turn to the southeast and
increase to around 15 to 20 mph on Wednesday. Another cold front is
forecast to move through on Thursday, turning winds back to the
northwest. Forecast daily minimum humidity for the rest of the week
is generally around 35 to 60 percent, lowest southwest and highest
east. However, a drier air mass could sneak into the southwest
corner of the state Wednesday afternoon, lowering humidity to near
25 percent.
