...FLOOD WARNING FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring on Great Gully
  Brook.

* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following
  county, Cayuga.

* WHEN...Until 530 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of Great Gully Creek and roads nearby will
  continue.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 400 PM EST, Local officials reported that the ice jam
    continues and has gotten worse. The ice jam extends from the
    walking bridge to the mouth of the lake. Flooding is already
    occurring and mitigation is being attempted.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Great Gully Cove Road and Fire Lane 8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
