Passage of a strong cold front in the 100am to 400am time frame is expected to bring a burst of moderate to heavy snow and gusty winds to eastern Upper Michigan and the Straits of Mackinac region. While the snow squall will likely only last for an hour...it will drop visibilities below one-half mile with wind gusts of 30 to 40mph. Once the squalls end there will be a transition to lake effect snow showers during the pre-dawn hours as temperatures drop into the 20s. $$ JPB
