Issued at 250 AM EDT Thu Aug 28 2025 A cold front tied to an uper-level trough is sliding south through northern Michigan early this morning. Showers have been steadily developing along and ahead of the boundary overnight. The aformentioned front will continue tracking southwest today, taking most of the rain with it by the afternoon. Skies will gradually break from north to south with cold air spilling quickly behind the boundary. Afternoon highs largely look to reach the 60s, then fall into the 50s by this evening. Gusty north winds will also add to the chill, giving the day a more fall feel. High pressure begins to build from the north tonight. Skies will turn mostly to partly clear with winds decreasing, setting the stage for a chilly late summer night. Overnight lows look to drop to the low 40s (some areas even possibly dropping into the 30s) with patchy frost possible towards daybreak Friday. && .LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 250 AM EDT Thu Aug 28 2025 High pressure looks to dominate the region through the upcoming Holiday weekend into early next week, bringing a prolonged period of dry, quiet weather. Friday looks to remain cool, with highs in the 60s under mostly sunny skies. Friday night into Saturday is likely to be the chilliest, as calm winds, clear skies, and a drying profile allows temperatures to dip into the low 40s to even the 30s, maintaining a concern for patchy frost. Saturday through Tuesday will see continued sunny, dry, conditions with temperatures warming. Highs are forecasted to be in the 70s Sunday, with some locations potentially reaching 80 by Monday and Tuesday. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z FRIDAY/...
