...The National Weather Service in Amarillo TX has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Texas...

  Canadian River at Amarillo 19N affecting Potter County.

For the Canadian River...including Amarillo 19N...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

The next statement will be issued late tonight at 115 AM CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Canadian River at Amarillo 19N.

* WHEN...Until Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Dirt road that runs east alongside the
  river channel becomes flooded. This road leads to Rosita Creek
  Flats Recreation Area, where primitive camping occurs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 4.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this
    afternoon to 9.4 feet just after midnight tonight. It will
    then fall early tomorrow afternoon. It will rise to 9.0 feet
    early Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    Thursday evening to 2.9 feet Friday evening.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    9.5 feet on 06/24/1996.
