...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN ULSTER COUNTY
THROUGH 745 PM EDT...
At 705 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Phillipsport, or 7 miles southwest of Ellenville, moving northeast at
25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
New Paltz, Ellenville, Kerhonkson, Napanoch, Wawarsing, Crawford,
Gardiner, Port Ben, Cherrytown, Samsonville, Forest Glen,
Rutsonville, Galeville, Dwaarkill, Liebhardt, Fantinekill,
Alligerville, Awosting, Lake Minnewaska, and Granite.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
east central New York.
