A strong frontal system is on approach to the forecast area bringing rapidly increasing winds and rain. Currently, unrestricted visibilities and VFR ceilings prevail, with winds out of the south and gusts reaching up to 25 mph. Winds to begin increasing rapidly and shift southeasterly before midnight as the front approaches, peaking from 6 AM AKDT to 2 PM AKDT, with gust speeds up to 75 mph possible. Expect ceilings and visibilities to lower similarly as the winds as the front moves approaches. MVFR ceilings to move in by midnight tonight, with IFR ceilings possible by early Thursday morning. Reduction in visibility is expected with the onset of heavy rainfall rates beginning Thursday morning. Thursday through Friday morning, expect weaker but still strong winds prevailing out of the south gusting up to 60 mph through Friday afternoon. Expect rainfall rates, ceilings, and visibilities to improve by Thursday afternoon. Light rain to persist into Friday. .TONIGHT...
