...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Virginia,
  including the following counties and independent city, in south
  central Virginia, Brunswick. In southeast Virginia, City of
  Emporia and Greensville.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 410 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rainfall amounts across the warned area.
    Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen since this
    morning. Flooding is already occurring with streams out of
    their banks and water over several roadways mainly across
    southern Brunswick County.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Emporia, Brunswick, Gasburg, Ante, Triplet, Brink,
    Valentines, Emporia Reservoir, White Plains and Lanes Corner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
