As it approaches SE AK, outflow winds will bring cool air in from Canada. When the front arrives in northern Lynn Canal, temps in Skagway will warm so mainly rain is expected in Skagway. Farther up the highway, temps will remain near or just below freezing so mainly snow is expected. Snow will begin in the morning but the heaviest rates will be in the afternoon. For Haines Highway, dry westerly drainage flow at the surface will allow for prefrontal southeasterly flow aloft to overrun cold air.
