...HEAVY RAIN TUESDAY THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY...

A STRONG SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE PANHANDLE BEGINNING TUESDAY,
BRINGING WITH IT GUSTS OF WIND UP TO 40 MPH ALONG THE COAST AND FOR
SOME COMMUNITIES IN THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE. THE STRONGEST WIND GUSTS
WILL BE ON TUESDAY. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN ARE FORECAST THROUGH EARLY
FRIDAY, WITH THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION EXPECTED LATE TUESDAY
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS AN ACCOMPANYING ATMOSPHERIC RIVER FOCUSES ON
THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE PANHANDLE. ANOTHER SYSTEM RACES NORTHWARD
INTO THE PANHANDLE ON THURSDAY BRINGING ADDITIONAL RAINFALL, WITH
THE GREATEST RAINFALL TOTALS ONCE MORE EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN
HALF OF THE PANHANDLE. PRECIPITATION TOTALS ON TUESDAY RANGE FROM 1
TO 2 INCHES NEAR SEA LEVEL. PRECIPITATION TOTALS ON WEDNESDAY WILL
RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES NEAR SEA LEVEL, AND TOTALS ON THURSDAY WILL
RANGE FROM 0.5 TO 2 INCHES. MORE PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE AT HIGHER
ELEVATIONS.

RISES IN SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS ARE EXPECTED BUT NO FLOODING IS
ANTICIPATED AT THIS TIME. STAY TUNED TO WEATHER.GOV/JUNEAU FOR THE
LATEST UPDATES.
