Winds across much of Frederick Sound will build to moderate breeze (11 to 16 kt) at times reaching up to fresh breeze (17 to 21 kt) within the main channels through Friday. Portage Bay has been reported to be calm winds, with mountains to the east blocking easterly flow. As of now, these calm winds are expected to continue with the aloft winds steady from the southeast. Earliest chance that winds aloft may shift, which would increase winds in the bay, would be Saturday morning shortly before the front passes to the east. Winds may diminish briefly this evening before strengthening back to the aforementioned wind speeds Friday night, potentially reaching strong breeze (22 to 27 kt) at times as another band moves through. Conditions will substantially improve Saturday afternoon hours as winds rapidly drop down towards gentle breeze (7 to 10 kt), and light breeze (4 to 6 kt) through Saturday night, though chances of rain could linger into Sunday morning. .REST OF TODAY...
