.DISCUSSION...Numerous showers are and will be moving northward along the
Coastline and into Sitka Sound, Baranof, and Chichagof Islands. Some of the
cells will be stronger leading to localized outflow boundaries away from the
main rain or embedded ice pellets in the cores. Wind direction and magnitude
of the gusts may be erratic. Gusts flowing away from these showers may reach
up to around 25 to 30 kt. Ceilings at Sitka Airport are between 2500 to 3500
feet. However, they may be lower near the shower activity.
