.DISCUSSION...
Rain showers end Monday morning with clearing skies during the
afternoon and evening ahead of a multi-day stretch of drier weather.
Breezy northwest winds are expected for the Upper Tanana Valley
again today with westerly winds spreading across the Yukon Flats
where min RH values may dip to near 40% depending on how quickly
skies clear. A ridge of high pressure builds on Tuesday ahead of a
cold front that approaches on Wednesday with most valley locations
likely returning to the lower 70a amidst min RHs dipping to near
30%. This is a dry, stable, North Pacific ridge, so thunderstorms
are not expected until perhaps Thursday evening near the AlCan
border. Cloudiness and rain showers spread from west to east late
Wednesday through Thursday with wetting rains likely across the
western and central interior. Wetting rain chances spread across the
eastern interior including the Upper Tanana Valley on Friday with a
seasonably cool and dry air mass becoming established this weekend.
