...POSSIBLE SNOW GLACIER DAM LAKE RELEASE...

Based on rising river levels on the Snow River over the past 48
hours, it is possible that Snow Glacier Dammed Lake is releasing. At
this time, we do not expect water levels to reach flood stage on the
Snow River, but an additional 2 to 3 feet rise of water levels is
likely if a release is occurring.

As of 1 am, the current water level at Cooper Landing is 9.3 feet.
Water levels on Kenai Lake and the Upper Kenai River have started to
rise and would likely rise another 1 to 3 feet, cresting Wednesday or
Thursday below flood stage if a release is occurring.

There is always uncertainty with Glacier Dam Lake releases.
Residents living around Kenai Lake should monitor conditions and
prepare for rising water levels.

This statement will be updated daily as more information is
available.
