...STRONG WINDS FOR WHITTIER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND AREAS
OF VERY LIGHT FREEZING RAIN EARLY THIS WEEK...

A strong storm in a series of systems that will affect the area
this week will lift north through the Gulf through today. The
front will enter Prince William Sound beginning this afternoon.
Easterly winds will continue pick up through Passage Canal and
into Whittier today. Peak winds are expected this afternoon into
the evening hours today where winds could briefly gust to 75 mph.
Easterly winds begin to diminish through the overnight hours into
Tuesday morning as flow turns more southerly by then.

In addition to strong winds, the series of storms will bring
considerably warmer weather and a chance of precipitation from
today through Tuesday. While temperatures are expected to
gradually rise above freezing through Monday, surface temperatures
may remain below freezing due to the recent cold weather. Rain,
heavy at times, may flow across and/or puddle on various surfaces.
Untreated and snow-covered surfaces and roadways may become
extremely slick. Please exercise caution if traveling over the
next few days.
