469 WWAK81 PAFC 240303 SPSAER SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT National Weather Service ANCHORAGE AK 703 PM AKDT Sun Jun 23 2024 AKZ102-112-121-145-240500- Anchorage-Matanuska Valley-Western Kenai Peninsula-Susitna Valley- Including the cities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Indian, Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla, Sutton, Chickaloon, Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, Cooper Landing, Talkeetna, and Willow 703 PM AKDT Sun Jun 23 2024 ...Strong Thunderstorms Continue this evening... Strong thunderstorms capable of producing Nickle sized hail, brief heavy downpours and frequent lighting will continue to develop early this evening over the Talkeetna and Chugach mountains and will continue to drift to the west southwest and will move over the Anchorage Bowl, the MatSu and Susitna Valleys including Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, Willow, Palmer, Wasilla and Meadow Lakes as well as the Western Kenai Peninsula including Sterling, Soldotna and Cooper Landing through early evening. The storms are expected to diminish after 9 PM. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Do not drive through standing water. When thunder roars go indoors. $$
