...HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 35 to 55 mph with gusts up to 90 mph
  expected.  Wind chill values falling to between -10 and -20F by
  Sunday evening.

* WHERE...Matanuska Valley.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
  cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. Cold temperatures
  combined with strong winds could cause frostbite on exposed skin
  in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong northeast winds will continue through
  Monday morning. Areas of blowing snow and dust with reduced
  visibilities are possible. There may be brief periods where winds
  and gusts diminish slightly Saturday evening and Sunday evening.
  However, very strong winds and gusts will persist through the
  weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread
power outages. Use caution if you must drive.

...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKST MONDAY...

* WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  Wind chill values falling to between -5 and -15F by Sunday evening.

* WHERE...Anchorage and NW Kenai Peninsula. The strongest winds
  expected along Knik Arm from Birchwood southwest, across North and
  West Anchorage, and along the coast of the northern Cook Inlet,
  including Kenai and Nikiski.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
  power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong northerly winds will continue through
  Monday morning. Areas of blowing snow with reduced visibilities
  are possible. There may be brief periods where winds and gusts
  diminish slightly Saturday evening and Sunday evening. However,
  very strong winds and gusts will persist through the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
