A strong low pressure system will move from northern Minnesota and
across the Great Lakes area today, sweeping a cold front across the
region. In addition to the colder air building in behind the cold
front, strong northwest wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph and very high to
extreme grassland fire danger is expected. The cold air sticks around
Saturday before warmer air starts building back into the region on
Sunday.

High temperatures today should top out in the low to mid 40s across
west central Minnesota and northern South Dakota, with highs in the
mid 50s over southern South Dakota. Lows tonight will be in the
teens and 20s, with highs on Saturday ranging from the upper 20s in
west central Minnesota, to the lower 40s in central South Dakota.
