Hot and humid air moving into the region is responsible for the early
morning storms. Temperatures today will peak in the mid and upper 80s
east river to low 90s for the Missouri valley. Temperatures continue
to increase for Thursday with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s east
river and near 100 for the Missouri valley region, with high
humidity. The heat persists into Friday, but a front will bring
storms into the region late which will help break the heat for the
weekend.
