.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will start to build over central and northeastern
South Dakota today. This will lead to no precipitation development
over the area today with slightly drier relative humidities, in the
50 percent over northeastern South Dakota and upper 30s to low 40
percent over central South Dakota this afternoon. Temperatures will
also start to warm, getting into the upper 70s over northeastern
South Dakota and upper 80s over central South Dakota by this
afternoon. Another active pattern looks to start Wednesday through
the end of the work week, with the potential for severe weather.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Wednesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
