.DISCUSSION...

Westerly winds turning southwesterly in the afternoon will gust
around 25 miles per hour across the forecast area today. Minimum
humidity values around 25 to 45 percent will be in place, with the
lowest values over central South Dakota. Southeasterly winds of
similar strength are expected tomorrow, but minimum humidity values
stay higher, between 40 to 55 percent. Rain is forecasted to begin
tomorrow evening over eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...

Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there
is high potential for a fire to spread.  Outdoor burning should be
restricted to early morning or evening hours when wind speeds are
usually lower and the relative humidity is higher.


The outlook for Monday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the moderate category.
