781 FNUS63 KABR 210911 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 411 AM CDT Thu Aug 21 2025 .DISCUSSION... A cold front will track southeast across the area through Friday morning. Near the cold front, showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible. The highest chances for measurable rain will be over eastern South Dakota. Hot and humid conditions continue again today, with heat index values of 100 to 103 for portions of central South Dakota. Relative humidity values will fall into the 20 to 30 percent range over mainly south central South Dakota, while near 40 percent over north central South Dakota, and remain over 50 percent across eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Southerly winds will shift out of the north behind the cold front as it tracks across across north central South Dakota late this morning, the rest of central South Dakota by mid afternoon, and slowly over eastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota tonight. The strongest winds this afternoon will be west of the Missouri River, with winds gusting out of the north 20 to near 30 mph. Cooler air will slide in Friday, with highs mainly in the 80s. Several days of much cooler and less humid are is in store for the weekend through at least early next week. Temperatures Saturday through Tuesday will run about 10 to 15 degrees below normal.
