168 FNUS63 KABR 292013 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 313 PM CDT Sun Sep 29 2024 .DISCUSSION... Southerly winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 mph will combine with a warm and dry airmass and cured fine fuels to create critical fire conditions through tonight, mainly along the Missouri River valley. The southerly winds will keep temperatures warm tonight and limit relative humidity recovery during the overnight hours. Thus, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect into Monday for central South Dakota. A cold front pushes southeast through the area late tonight into Monday morning, shifting winds around to the northwest at 20 to 35 mph and gusts of 45 mph. Critical fire conditions are expected again for much of the area, as drier air moving in behind the front will offset the cooler temperatures and still lead to relative humidity values around 20 percent tomorrow afternoon.
