.DISCUSSION...

Northwest winds will become breezy and gusty by late morning, with
gusts in the 25 to 35 mph range. Lowest humidity will be found
across central South Dakota, with readings forecast to range from 30
to 35 percent.

On Tuesday, surface high pressure will bring light and variable
winds in the morning. By afternoon, winds will favor a south to
southeast direction across central South Dakota, while for eastern
areas they may remain light from the west. Afternoon humidity is
forecast to fall to between 25 and 35 percent for most areas.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Tuesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
