A cold front sweeps through the region today with a trailing upper trough. The front will bring showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms may be strong to severe this afternoon, mainly along and east of the James Valley. Min RH remains above 40 percent. Drier and cooler air is expected for Saturday as smoke from Canadian wildfires also returns. Min RH will fall to around 25 percent along and west of the Missouri River with higher values east.
