789 FNUS63 KABR 040857 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 357 AM CDT Fri Apr 4 2025 .DISCUSSION... An area of low pressure will shift from central to eastern South Dakota this morning, bringing a wintry mix of precipitation to the area, ranging from around 0.05 to 0.35 inches. The lightest precipitation, and coldest air will be over north central South Dakota, where snow is most likely. A glaze of light icing from freezing rain will be possible this morning, mainly near the North Dakota and South Dakota border between the Missouri River and James River. Snowfall amounts of around an inch or less can be expected through early evening, with higher amounts of around 1 to 2 inches over McPherson, northern Brown, and Marshall Counties. Behind the area of low pressure, winds sill shift from out of the south to out of the north and increase. Gusts of 25 to 35 mph will occur over central South Dakota, along with relative humidity values of 30 to 40 percent. High relative humidity values will remain elsewhere. On Saturday, relative humidity values will fall into the 20 to 30 percent range across central South Dakota. Much warmer air will settle over the region by the middle of next week.
