.DISCUSSION...

Wetter conditions are on the way, and will continue through the rest
of the week. Relative humidity values will stay be above 60 percent
through Friday. There is a 50 to 70 percent chance of rain late
tonight through the day Tuesday. Areas south of U.S. Highway 212 have
a 60 percent chance of receiving a tenth of an inch of rain or more.
Winds Tuesday will be out of the east to east-southeast, with the
strongest winds gusting 25 to 30 mph over central South Dakota in the
afternoon

Cool air will remain in place. Highs Tuesday will only be near 50
degrees. After a brief break in rain, light rain will return to the
forecast Wednesday before increasing Wednesday night into Thursday.

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...

Marginal weather conditions or lowering moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is
some potential for a fire to spread.  Any outdoor burning should be
closely monitored.


The outlook for Tuesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the moderate category.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Tuesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
