TEST TORNADO DRILLS APRIL 10, 2025 AFTERNOON AND EVENING The state
of Minnesota is conducting test tornado drills April 10 at 1:45 p.m.
and 6:45 p.m. The drills are provided jointly by the Minnesota
Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the
National Weather Service offices that serve both states, and
numerous counties, cities, and tribal nations. Remember that it is a
test. You may hear from local systems such as reverse 9-1-1 (if you
have signed up), outdoor warning sirens, NOAA weather radio, TV, or
others. Take the time now to decide where you would take shelter.
Remember to plan for the various places you may be if a real warning
occurs. Also make sure you have at least two ways to get a warning.
Outdoor Warning Sirens are not enough and may not always activate or
be heard. Get a NOAA Weather Radio. Sign up for warning notices
through your local county or city or phone. The drills are part
of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota. Remember they are
just a test, to remind you of what you should do if there was a real
warning. For more information, check out our website weather.gov, or
our social media pages.
