.DISCUSSION...

Gusty west to northwest winds are expected on Monday, with many
areas seeing gusts from 45 to perhaps 60 mph by late afternoon,
mainly over northern South Dakota. Afternoon humidity is forecast to
drop to between 15 and 25 percent for most of the area. A Red Flag
Warning is in place for Monday afternoon into early evening. Much
above normal temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s will also be
in place. A strong cold front will also move south through the
region late Monday afternoon into the early evening hours. This will
cause a bit of a wind shift from west-northwest (270-290 degrees) to
northwest-north (330-360 degrees) by later in the evening.

On Tuesday, cooler air will move in behind the cold front as highs
drop back down into the 40s. Light and somewhat variable winds in
the morning will trend southerly by afternoon. Afternoon humidity is
forecast to range from 25 to 40 percent for much of the region.
