.DISCUSSION...

Very high to Extreme Grassland Fire Danger across the area today, as
a cold front moves across the area and leads to northwest winds
gusting to 40 to 55 mph. Due to the colder air moving in, relative
humidities will only fall to around 50 percent over northern South
Dakota. Farther to the south, warmer temperatures in south central
South Dakota will lead to relative humidities falling to 30 to 40
percent. Thus, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for that area.
Canadian high pressure will build into the area tonight, decreasing
the winds and bringing temperatures back to more normal values for
the beginning of March on Saturday.
