...STRONG EAST CANYON WINDS TO CONTINUE BELOW TIJERAS CANYON IN
ALBUQUERQUE UNTIL 6 PM MDT...

At 508 PM MDT, strong east winds were continuing below canyons
opening into Albuquerque from the east. The strongest winds will
impact east central Albuquerque around Central Avenue, I-40, and the
International Sunport.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
  Albuquerque, Los Ranchos De Albuquerque, South Valley, North
  Valley and Carnuel.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 157 and 169.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 215 and 230.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
