...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM MST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as s low as 20 below expected
  across the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and as low as 10 below
  across the adjacent highlands and upper Rio Grande Valley.
  Elsewhere, wind chills as low as 5 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, southeast,
  and west central New Mexico.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM MST Friday.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if
  precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if
  unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
