...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM MST
THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Strong westerly winds forecast today, with peak gusts reaching 45
mph. The exact timing of the onset of these stronger winds will
be tricky given the broken to overcast sky coverage, alongside
the location of the fire within the protected Moreno Valley.
Winds will start off first at ridgetops before mixing down to the
burn location somewhere between 1 pm to 3 pm MST, earlier if skies
clear earlier than expected. They will persist into the evening
hours before slowly lessening overnight. Light snow showers will
try to break out over the Sangre de Cristo Mts tonight into
Friday morning, with low overall precipitation chances. High
precipitation chances for meaningful snow accumulations arrives
Friday night into Saturday morning.
