Very dry and hot conditions will persist over the western half of NM this week. A couple high-based showers and storms are possible along the Continental Divide and around the Rio Grande Valley each day but wetting rainfall chances are low. Areas along and east of the central mountain chain will have better chances for locally heavy rainfall today and Monday. Storm motion will be slow toward the south and east each day. Storm chances continue Tuesday through Friday but footprints of heavy rainfall will become smaller and more isolated. ................................................................
