Critical fire weather conditions are not expected for at least the next 7 days. Widespread to numerous showers and storms are expected each afternoon and evening through Wednesday, creating an elevated risk of burn scar flash flooding. Widespread wetting rainfall is expected and 3-day precipitation totals may exceed 3" in some areas. Drier air enters from the northwest Friday, limiting isolated convection to the high terrain in southern NM. A backdoor front enters from the east Friday, ushering in more moisture and gusty east winds. Scattered showers and storms return this weekend.
