Gusty southwest winds and low humidity will continue to create critical fire weather conditions in south-central and southeastern New Mexico this afternoon, however a backdoor front in northeastern New Mexico has resulted in higher humidities and lighter winds so the Red Flag Warning was cancelled early there. Rain and snow is expected across much of central and northern New Mexico this evening through Saturday night. Gulf moisture looks to return to portions of the eastern plains with wetting showers and thunderstorms starting as early as Tuesday afternoon. Drier and gustier storms may reach as far west as the central mountain chain. ................................................................
