Critical fire weather conditions are not expected over the next seven days. Much of New Mexico will see wetting rainfall between now and Tuesday, with a low-to-moderate risk of flash flooding on recent burn scars. Elevated conditions, driven by southwesterly winds gusting to 35-40 mph, are forecast for a few hours this afternoon over the northeastern plains. However, minimum relative humidity values remain above 35 percent and current fuel states are not very receptive to fire spread. A Pacific storm system is expected to bring gusty to windy conditions again and drier air statewide next Thursday into Friday. ................................................................
