Dry and hot conditions will persist for much of the region through Friday. A few gusty showers and thunderstorms are still possible for parts of the region with small footprints of wetting rainfall. A pattern shift toward wetter and cooler conditions may begin Saturday and continue through next week. Much needed rainfall may finally be on the horizon for western NM while the greatest amounts are more likely across northern and eastern NM. ................................................................
