864 FNUS55 KABQ 191235 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 635 AM MDT Sat Apr 19 2025 .DISCUSSION... Wetting rain and snow will spread across the forecast area today, then precip will diminish from the west late this afternoon through early Sunday morning. The storm track will remain well to the north of NM during the first half of the coming week enabling high temperatures to climb above 30-year averages with seasonably gusty winds each afternoon. A return flow of low level moisture is forecast to move northwestward into the eastern plains starting Monday night, then slosh in and out of the plains each night/day through Wednesday with daily rounds of dryline thunderstorms. Showers and storms may develop over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains thanks to a backdoor front on Wednesday. A stronger backdoor front will push through eastern NM Thursday with wetting showers and thunderstorms along and east of the central mountain chain. ................................................................
