167 FNUS55 KABQ 100840 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 240 AM MDT Sun Aug 10 2025 .DISCUSSION... Although high temperatures will cool some, critically low humidities will persist over northwest and west central areas until Friday. Near critical fire weather conditions are forecast west of the Tusas Mountains this afternoon until sunset, where westerly 20 foot wind gusts up to 25 mph are expected. Isolated and gusty virga showers and mostly dry thunderstorms are again expected this afternoon and evening from Taos southward to Albuquerque, then from Albuquerque westward to the continental divide. To the south and east of this area, wetting precip chances will increase today and Monday, then remain fairly elevated through Tuesday. Thunderstorm chances will then decrease Wednesday and Thursday, before increasing as a southerly fetch of monsoon moisture crosses central and western areas later in the week. ................................................................
