...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall will be
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New Mexico, including the
  following counties, Curry County, Quay County and Roosevelt County.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The combination of a significant uptick in moisture and
    increased coverage of afternoon and evening storms will
    result in a heightened risk of locally heavy rainfall
    producing flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall will be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central New Mexico from the Jemez Mountains
  and Sangre de Cristo Mountains including the Hermit`s Peak/Calf
  Canyon burn scar and Las Vegas southward to the South-Central
  Mountains including Ruidoso, including the Rio Grande Valley from
  Santa Fe to Albuquerque to Socorro, the Estancia Basin, the
  Sandia/Manzano Mountains, and the Central and South-Central
  Highlands.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  There is a heightened risk of flash flooding on recent burn scars,
  including the South Fork, Blue 2, Salt, McBride, and Hermit`s
  Peak/Calf Canyon burn scars. Urban areas like the Albuquerque
  metro will also see a heightened risk of flash flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The combination of a significant uptick in moisture and
    increased coverage of afternoon and evening storms will
    result in a heightened risk of locally heavy rainfall
    producing flash flooding.

  County, Far Northeast Highlands, Harding County and Johnson and
  Bartlett Mesas Including Raton Pass. In north central New Mexico,
  Espanola Valley.
