...HIGH FLOWS IN THE SAN JUAN, ANIMAS AND LA PLATA RIVERS...

Heavy rainfall in Colorado has resulted in high flows across
multiple rivers across northwest New Mexico. Bankfull conditions
have already been reported across the Animas River in Farmington and
very high flows have also been reported on the San Juan River near
Shiprock. Though river levels have crested for today and will come
down through the evening and overnight hours, additional rainfall on
Monday and Tuesday will cause these rivers to rise once again.

For your safety, stay away from the banks of these rivers. This fast
running water could easily sweep away those distracted near the bank
of the river. Avoid any recreational activities on these rivers
through at least Wednesday.

Expect rises and impacts to nearby roads and low water crossings.
Stay aware of any flash flood or river flood warnings that are
issued.
