...A DUST STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM MST FOR
CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTY...

At 429 PM MST, a dust storm was near Roswell, and is nearly
stationary.

  HAZARD...Less than one quarter mile visibility with strong wind in
           excess of 40 mph. Additional dust from southern NM will
           shift into the area producing widespread visibility
           reductions.

  SOURCE...Satellite imagery.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 285 between Mile Markers 79 and 140.
 Highway 380 between Mile Markers 156 and 186.

Locations impacted include...
Greenfield, Roswell Correctional Facility, Roswell, Bitter Lake
Wildlife Refuge, Hagerman, Elkins, Lake Arthur, Dexter, Midway, and
Bottomless Lakes State Park.

Near zero visibility is possible along the Roswell Relief route
between Sunset and McGaffey. Use an alternate route. Please avoid
this area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!
