948 WWUS20 KWNS 171926 SEL8 SPC WW 171926 TXZ000-180300- URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 278 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 230 PM CDT Sat May 17 2025 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northwest and North-Central Texas * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 230 PM until 1000 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 4 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 80 mph possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will rapidly intensify this afternoon. Supercells capable of very large hail and damaging winds will be a concern through the early evening. A tornado or two is also possible. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 85 statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles north of Fort Worth TX to 5 miles south of Waco TX.
