The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Central into North-Central/Northeast Texas

* Effective this Friday afternoon from 500 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3.5
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Multiple supercell thunderstorms are expected to develop
this afternoon and evening. They should pose a threat for mainly
large to very large hail, with the largest hailstones potentially
reaching up to 2.5-3.5 inches in diameter. Some threat for
severe/damaging winds and perhaps a tornado may also exist through
the evening.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles south
southwest of Stephenville TX to 60 miles south of Paris TX. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
