At 242 PM, National Weather Service radar detected scattered
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mostly south of I40
and also in Arkansas west of I49. They were most widespread and
heaviest in Haskell, Sequoyah and Latimer counties in Oklahoma. The
precipitation was in the Fort Smith area. Movement was to the east
at around 25 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour was
one tenth to one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of an inch
and a half to two inches. Coverage and intensity remained about the
same as last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late this afternoon,
mostly cloudy, a chance of showers and thunderstorms with
temperatures 81 to 89 degrees and east winds 5 to 10 mph.
