.DISCUSSION...Hot and generally dry conditions will continue today
under the influence of high pressure. However, the approach of a
weakening Pacific storm system will bring a modest increase in
winds this afternoon and some increase in mid-level moisture. This
will result in a low chance (10-20 percent) of high based
thunderstorms impacting the fire during the late afternoon and
early evening. Such storms would bring the potential for gusty and
erratic winds as well as isolated dry lightning. The storm system
will cross northern Utah tonight into early Thursday. It will be
accompanied by little in the way of precipitation, but will bring
cooler temperatures for Thursday and shift the prevailing winds to
the west. High pressure will rebuild by the weekend.
